This weekly project focused on lighting and shadow techniques. I practised different lighting methods in Unreal Engine for this assignment. I followed a tutorial by Abe Leal 3D to model and UV unwrap a chest asset in Maya. Afterwards, I textured the chest using Substance 3D Painter. I used this chest as a hero asset placed within a pre-made Unreal environment. To learn about lighting in Unreal, I followed tutorials by William Faucher on YouTube. I cleared all the dynamic and baked lights in the scene and started from scratch. Here are a few different lighting renders I experimented with.
